Paneer butter masala is one of the most popular dishes in India. According to Indians; it is the main course meal. It is smooth, rich and creamy dish prepared using butter. It is best served with roti, naan, paratha, jeera rice etc.

Ingredients

  • • Paneer Cubes (1 Inch Cubes ) – 1 Cup
  • • Butter – 4 Tbsp + 1 Tbsp oil
  • • Oil – 2 Tbsp
  • • Bay Leaves – 2
  • • Cloves – 4
  • • Black Cardamom – 2
  • • Onion Paste – 3/4 Cup
  • • Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 Tbsp
  • • Dry Fenugreek leaves – 2 Tbsp
  • • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 Tsp
  • • Salt To Taste
  • • Tomato Puree – 1/2 Cup
  • • Kashmiri Red Chili Powder – 1 1/2 Tsp
  • • Garam Masala – 1/2 Tsp (Optional)
  • • Fresh Cream – 1/4 Cup + 2 Tbsp
  • • Water – 1/4 Cup

Instructions

1. Melt 4 tbsp butter in and oil in a pan. Add bay leaves, cloves, black cardamom and fry for 10-15 seconds.

2. Add onion and saute for 5 mins.

3. Add ginger-garlic paste, dry fenugreek leaves, and turmeric powders and saute for some seconds till the raw aroma disappears.

4. Saute for 1 minute.

5. Add salt and tomato puree. Cook covered for 3-4 mins.

6. Add Kashmiri red chili powder, garam masala powder and 1/4 cup cream.

7. Stir and mix well for 2 minutes.

8. Add paneer cubes and mix well. Cook covered on low heat for 2-3 minutes.

9. Add 2 tbsp cream, water, 2 tbsp butter and water.

10. Mix well and cook covered till oil leaves the sides.

11. Garnished with coriander leaves.

12. Served with hot plain naan,garlic naan ,paratha , plain rice, jeera rice or even peas pulav.
