Hara Bhara Kabab is an Indian recipe. It is made with green leafy vegetables such as spinach , green peas and potatoes. It can also be a party starter or snack generally eaten before the main course meal. They are nutritious as well as delicious also.

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Spinach leaves
  • ¾ cup peas, fresh or frozen
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 capsicum, finely chopped
  • ¾ cup beans, chopped
  • 2 potato, boiled and grated
  • 2 tsp oil
  • ¾ cup paneer or cottage cheese, crumbled
  • 3 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp corn flour
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp kashmiri chili powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp aamchur or dry mango powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs, to coat
  • 8 cashews, halved
  • oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Pluck and rinse spinach in boil water for 2 minutes.
  2. Remove the spinach leaves from the boil water and keep in cold water for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Heat 2 teaspoon oil in a pan, add green chilies to it.
  4. Further add green vegetables , french beans and peas and saute them for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the whole mixture into the whole jar to make a smooth paste.
  6. Now transfer this paste into a mixing bowl.
  7. Add boil potatoes and finely chopped coriander leaves and mix it well.
  8. Further add bread crumbs and corn flour for binding the mixture. Bread crumbs also helps to absorb excess moisture.
  9. Now add all the remaining spices  like chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric, aamchur powder and salt.
  10. Mix them well. Make sure that all the spices are very well combined with  the mixture.
  11. Grease hands with oil. Make small balls with hands , flattened them to form small patties (kababs)
  12. Now pour some bread crumbs over the kababs and deep fry into the hot oil.
  13. Fry these kababs till they turn into light golden brown color. Flip and fry on both the sides.
  14. Drain these hara bhara onto the tissue paper so that it soak excess oil.
  15. Serve Hara Bhara Kabab with hot tea, ketchup or green chutney.
