Punjabi Chole Bhature is one of the most popular recipes of North India but now liked by all over India even in abroad. Additionally, Chole Bhature consists of two main combinations: Chole And Bhature. Moreover, Chole is simply made with white chickpeas with a spicy curry. On the other hand, Bhatura is unleavened Flatbread. It is often identified on the streets of India especially in Punjab and Haryana.
Punjabi Chole or Chole is slightly different from Chana Masala. Chana Masala is made with the basic ingredients. On the other hand, in Chole, we add some extra ingredients. Black cardamom is specially used in Chole Recipe.
Another main difference is: Chole is more spicier, tangier and spicy than chana masala. So, chole is now turned up into a flavourful and delicious recipe.
How Chole is made of?
The very first step of making Chole starts with soaking the chickpeas overnight at least for 8 hours. Then we also need to pressure cook it up to 4 whistles. Curry or gravy is made with onions and tomatoes.
To give black colour to Chole, we need to add Chana or soaked chickpeas in Tea decoction. Next morning, cook the chickpeas in same water. The colour of chickpeas turned out to be black.
Specialty Of Punjabi Chole Recipe
The specialty of Chole lies in it’s gravy and Spices and ofcourse Garam Masala powder. Spices such as Cloves, Cinnamon, Cardamom and Bay Leaf gives extra taste to this recipe. Additionally, you can also make Garam Masala in your home.
Bhatura is made up of all purpose flour or Maida and wheat flour. The ration of all purpose flour to White flour is: 3:1. Bhatura can also be made without yeast. We can add curd, baking powder or baking soda as a replacement of yeast.
